At the Pharma Division we live and breathe quality, safety, and excellence, and we lead far-reaching activity to incorporate state-of-the-art equipment, continuously improve production processes, and expand professional know-how of our employees who are our 'active ingredient'.
Manufacturing processes in the Pharma Division are diverse and combine exceptional technological capabilities and advanced manufacturing and packaging equipment. Together with substantial expertise collected over the years, Taro is able to effectively produce high-quality products.
The Pharma Division operates production cells in which products are manufactured in a continuous process that lends itself to efficient and professional manufacturing.
These are our manufacturing cells:
- Dry-Mix production cell
- Granulation production cell
- Liquids & Foams production cell
- Semi-Solids production cell
Our manufacturing processes comply with the strictest quality standards under supervision of the FDA. We also comply with the requirements of other health authorities in Europe, Canada, Israel, and others.
Active ingredients are manufactured in Taro by the Chemistry Division, where seven production lines manufacture a variety of active ingredients.
A manufacturing process is likely to include chemical reactions, purification, granulation, drying, and milling. These processes take place inside process chemical-engineering equipment of varying volumes. Taro manufactures active ingredients by the gram or by the hundreds of tons, as needed, every year.
These active ingredients are used in the manufacture of medications for skin, cardiovascular, pain, and central nervous system conditions, to name but a few.
Production complies with GMP and is approved by the various health authorities.
